Song Stewardship
This 1:1 voice work is for ceremonialists, facilitators and movement workers who want to trust themselves to lead song without overthinking or performing.
The rooms you hold are carrying more than they used to.
More grief.
More urgency.
More fracture.
More people who don’t trust institutions but still need ritual.
Song does something words can’t.
It lets people feel each other again
It holds grief without explanation
It builds resolve without hype
It organizes nervous systems
If you facilitate vigils, marches, ceremonies, or spaces collective mourning, this is not optional skill-building.
It’s essential.
Voice Work for Ceremonialists, Facilitators and Movement Workers
If you hold ritual space through vigils, marches, ceremonies, grief work, or movement spaces, you’ve felt the moment when the room needed a song. Maybe you weren’t sure whether to start one, which one to choose, or if your voice would actually hold.
That gap is where 1:1 Voice support comes in.
When you are responsible for guiding others in these tender places, having a voice you can rely on when things get heavy or get going is vital.
This isn’t performance training or about “sounding good”. Song is infrastructure, and most leaders were never trained to use it under pressure.
This work qualifies as individualized continuing education and formation in facilitation, leadership presence, and ritual practice.
The Full Presence
Vocal Method
Tried and true for over a decade, The Full Presence Vocal Method is how I help people use their voice without leaving themselves or the room. We work with attention, choice, and real-time discernment so you don’t freeze, perform, or second-guess when the moment asks for a song.
Why People Work With Me
✔ I have extensive experience leading communal song. I am the founder and director of Sing Praise!, a queer praise and worship community; served as a Co-Director for WildChoir; and have led thousands of people in song across faith, ritual, and movement spaces.
✔ I am a ceremonialist myself. I’ve served as a resident song carrier for numerous ceremonies—grief rituals, transitions, celebrations, and collective gatherings—so this work comes from lived practice, not theory.
✔ I work at the root. Most “technique issues” resolve themselves when underlying patterns are addressed, so I focus on what actually creates lasting change rather than quick fixes.
✔ I lead with curiosity and care, not perfection. There’s no shaming here—ever. This work is about trust, honesty, and staying human while learning.
✔ I have walked my talk. With 10 self-produced albums of original music, I know what it means to rely on your voice over time, in public, and under real-world pressure.
✔ I bring uncommon training in holding vulnerability and thresholds. My background as a birth doula and holistic dominatrix means I am deeply skilled at supporting people in intense, exposed moments so they can access their own power. (Yes, really.)

“In a word, working with KJ was…f*ckingamazing.
I wanted their eye on me, I wanted their particular brand of medicine. I didn’t even know what it was, I just knew it was good. I heard myself SING. I came to get better tools to work with so that I could speak from a place of authenticity that is rooted in who I am. I wanted help with that and I got it. I’ll be back for more because you never graduate from greatness. They are my Muse, my guide, my teacher.”

KJ is a dream…. They welcomed all parts of me with such a sincere appreciation and warmth that I was genuinely surprised. Few have their rare capacity for wrapping the new, awkward, and tenderly emergent pieces of people in such strong and well-held love. KJ holds a clean, clear, thoughtfully structured container within which I felt extraordinarily safe. They witnessed me and inquired about me and supported me with admiration for my unique journey, and the work was immensely affirming. My voice was heard, my complexities and inconsistencies were honored, my search was understood, my unfolding was wanted, my value was reflected - and I honestly feel like a stronger soul now. They have my deep gratitude. If you’re feeling nervous about this journey, please know that you’re in good company - and in extraordinary hands.

KJ’s presence and space holding is so fcking real but also tender and fierce?!? They helped me slow tf down, own the power of my voice, and also discharge so much shame around being seen and heard in my “imperfect” expression. Through this work I was able to write, produce, and release my first EP of original music, expressing a side of myself that had felt taboo to share publicly and I really did not think it possible before working with them. The most amazing part was that, by the time I released the album, it no longer felt so highly charged, and instead felt like an inevitable leap forward in my journey.

KJ is way more than a vocal coach. They’re more than a singer. They help me bring what was once hidden on the inside to shine with resonant power on the outside. With love, giddy excitement, deep presence and playfulness. They show me that anything that I feel deeply can sound beautiful, too. There’s a way that the singing itself feels like the container to share the beauty of my humanness. First with myself, then with the world.

Cultivating my singing voice has been a much deeper endeavor than fine-tuning vocal techniques. It has been the gentle calling forth of my soul - giving voice to what my truest self wants to share with the world. KJ voice sessions have been life-changing. They are able to "hear" me on all the levels that I've yearned to be heard for so long. I can't speak highly enough of their work as a voice doula.

How would I describe this work to my best friend? I would say: "Why NOT do it?? I see you diving in, you're looking for ways to be true to yourself, good to the world, beautiful in your body, strong in your visions, safe in your grief, bold with your love - this work is related to everything else in your life. This is another way of touching in, and you get to do it with a powerful wacky human who has and is still doing their own work. That is a fucking gift and you should taker them up on it.

KJ has clearly has gone through their own transformative process and uses their deep gained wisdom and intuition to stand next to me, guide and support me in finding the truest expression of my voice. KJ intuitively understands the deeper issues that can get in the way of expression and voice such as fear, shame, self-judgment, and old energetic patterns. They compassionately hold space so that our voices can shine. In our work together, I felt my voice deepen, my creativity come alive, and was able to access and embody powerful parts of myself that I didn't even know existed. I could not recommend KJ highly enough for anyone who wants to manifest their creative potential and truest expression, whether you have experience with singing and voice or not.

I was told at a young age that I didn’t have a good voice, and even though I had dreams of singing on stage as a young girl, I never was brave enough to think that I could actually do that. KJ made me feel so comfortable and confident with my voice that I was able to sing in front of them. KJ will help you fill the inherent power in your voice that you didn’t even know was there. They will help you connect to the magical quality of speaking and singing and tap into another layer of your soul.

The work KJ and I did together was physical, spiritual, ancestral and helped me move through my personal obstacles to find joy, confidence and connection with my voice. Now I sing whenever, wherever, however I please! And it pleases me. ;)

“For years, I was trying to sing like my favorite singers, never quite being able to embody song as it truly related to me. In the back of my mind, I frustratingly recognized this, but I never knew quite what to do about it. Now I sing songs the way I know I can sing them, with my own identity, finally comfortable and damn happy to be in my own skin. If you’re afraid of using your voice in any way, or maybe can’t stand just listening to your voice, I can’t imagine better friend to have in tackling all that than KJ."
