A Queer Revival of Spirit, Song & Sacred Belonging

ON TOUR THIS SUMMER

NEXT UP: BERKELEY
JUNE 22 with Lydia Violet

This multi-hour immersive worship experience blends the best of church—joyful praise, deep prayer, and communal healing—without the dogma. It's a ritual of reclamation, especially for those healing from church hurt, offering a space where all identities are celebrated and every voice is sacred 🌈

Sing Praise! is not your average song circle—it’s a queer revival, a ritual of collective power and joy, led by music minister + MDiv Candidate KJ Song.

This is worship remixed: rooted in rhythm, grounded in justice, and open to all.

In a world that keeps breaking our hearts and demanding our silence, Sing Praise! is a place to wail, harmonize, stomp, and rise. It’s for anyone hungry for Spirit without the strings, for community that sings back, for a moment of aliveness that feels like YES.

This isn’t a concert—it’s a homecoming.

SING PRAISE IS:

– a curated & inclusive worship service

– a place to let it rip and bring all of yourself (including your grief)

– a growing, supportive community of people who love singing praise music

-a loving space to be queer and praise God

SING PRAISE AIN’T:

– your average “song circle”

– about sounding pretty or impressing anyone ⁣

– about how you look or sound at all

– centered around straight white voices

MORE TESTIMONIES

*The space that KJ offers is so profoundly welcoming, inclusive, generative, and creative. I felt an immediate homecoming in my body Mind and Spirit when I sat in the first singing Circle with KJ and other beautiful souls. Honestly, I would love to have Singing with KJ every morning and to sing in our embodied longings together. Please, simply give yourself a yes to the invitation that KJ offers you. You will be pleased. Your body will thank you. Your soul will quite possibly relax and feel a gigantic Ahhhhh... of relief. Say yes.

*KJ holds an impeccable, safe, and inclusive space for all voices, bodies, and hearts to be expressed and celebrated in their uniqueness. Attending KJ‘s song services feels like the best kind of church, one where I am encouraged to be wholly myself, and to connect in my very personal relationship with God, and my own body, heart, and spirit. The services tend to bring an uplifting, enriching, and potent mix of reverence, humor, joy, tears, and holiness. KJ’s regular invitation to take risks in exploring sounds and harmonies is freeing and empowering, and I find it exhilarating to experience that freedom in community. I schedule my life around attending KJ’s song circles and I highly recommend you do too, if given the opportunity!

*KJ’s song services have been my absolute favorite thing in the past few months. I had never sung in a group or in front of other people before and was really hesitant—but from the very first moment, KJ created a space that felt safe, welcoming, and spiritually grounded. I was moved to tears during my first session, in awe of the beauty and connection I felt. KJ’s deep love for song shines through every piece they share, carrying a joy and reverence that’s truly contagious. Their songs have taken root in my heart, and in moments of need, I return to them for strength and grounding.

*When I heard about the song services that KJ was leading, I expected to enjoy singing and harmonizing with others . To my surprise, it is so much more! With their background in Gospel singing and their skills and sensitivity in leading those gathered, I began experiencing appreciation and reverence of feeling the divine  in me. I am so grateful to be part of such a joyful gathering. No matter what your reason for being there, it will be an enriching and heartfelt experience.

*My first group song services with KJ was deep, profound, and heart-opening. I felt held by the container KJ created for us. It felt like shedding layers of myself. I felt like I’d finally found a place to worship in community, to pray, release, laugh, cry, and sing. I was and am humbled by their generosity, openness, and presence. They invites us in. They helps us penetrate, to look inside our soul. There is so much permission to be anything, to feel anything, and to sing that. It’s very powerful and I can say without a doubt that KJ is inviting us to meet God, whoever or whatever that is for each of us, and showing us that we can heal together; and by doing so, heal the world.
